What the site stores
Your choices and their timestamp are stored in your browser under espectre.consent.v2 for up to 180 days before the site asks again. Website statistics can use Google Analytics cookies whose names begin with _ga. Campaign measurement can use Google Ads cookies whose names begin with _gcl. Withdrawing a purpose stops the site's related events, updates Google's consent state, and asks the browser to remove the corresponding first-party cookies. Previously collected data is not automatically deleted by withdrawal.
Analytics data
With consent to website statistics, the site records page views and coarse product interactions, such as opening a guide, selecting a firmware option, or whether a browser-supported connection succeeds. Events may include the selected public firmware frontend and release channel, the chip family detected over USB, transport, outcome, and a normalized error category. For a connected device, its profile may also include an allowlisted frontend, chip family, detector, protocol version, and normalized public firmware version; unrecognized values are reported only as unknown.
Analytics also records clicks on SDK download links and the commercial contact link, along with public campaign labels from tagged links. A contact click does not record an email's contents or confirm that a message was sent. The site's tracking code does not send the contact link's email address, subject, or full URL as event data.
Why it is used
The data helps maintainers understand which documentation and tools are useful, where setup journeys fail, and which supported hardware or firmware paths need attention. Public campaign labels help measure whether promotional links bring visitors who explore the SDK or select the commercial contact link. Google Signals, remarketing, and advertising personalization remain disabled, including when you accept all optional measurement.
Campaign measurement
If you accept campaign measurement, Google Ads receives selections of the commercial contact link and SDK download links, along with the public page location and advertising click identifiers needed to attribute these actions to an ad. These actions are measured separately; neither proves that an email was sent, a file download completed, or a purchase occurred. No revenue is assigned to them.
Before a choice, validated advertising click identifiers from the landing URL remain only in page memory and the current browser URL. The site does not persist or send them for advertising until you accept campaign measurement. A refusal discards those identifiers. Other URL query parameters and contact-link details are excluded from the site's conversion events.
Campaign measurement can be accepted without website statistics. The campaign tag receives only the two conversion actions described above, rather than device diagnostics or the site's other custom analytics events. Google also receives the technical request information needed to provide measurement, such as an IP address and browser information.
Google services and retention
Google receives data for the measurement purposes you accept through Google Analytics or Google Ads. The project’s target for Analytics event-level retention is no more than 14 months; aggregated reports may remain available for longer. Google Ads uses its own cookie and reporting retention settings; the configured click-through conversion window for this campaign is 30 days. Your choice
Choose Reject all to use every public page and browser tool without optional measurement, Accept all to enable both purposes, or Customize to choose them independently and save your preferences. To change or withdraw your choices, use Cookie settings in the footer. A previous choice to accept Analytics alone does not authorize campaign measurement. Browser privacy controls and content blockers continue to apply.
