The website is operated by Francesco Pace, a natural person in Italy, as maintainer of the independent ESPectre open-source project. Current identification and project status are available in Legal information.
What the site stores
Your analytics choice is stored in your browser under espectre.analytics.consent.v1. If you accept, Google Analytics may set cookies whose names begin with _ga. If you reject or later withdraw consent, the site disables analytics and asks the browser to remove those cookies.
Analytics data
With consent, the site records page views and coarse product interactions, such as opening a guide, selecting a firmware option, or whether a browser-supported connection succeeds. Events may include the selected public firmware frontend and release channel, the chip family detected over USB, transport, outcome, and a normalized error category.
Why it is used
The data helps maintainers understand which documentation and tools are useful, where setup journeys fail, and which supported hardware or firmware paths need attention. It is not used for advertising or cross-site personalization. Google Signals and advertising personalization are disabled in the site configuration.
Processor and retention
Google processes consented analytics data as the provider of Google Analytics. The project’s target for event-level retention is no more than 14 months; aggregated reports may remain available for longer. See Google’s privacy policy for information about Google’s processing.
Your choice
You can reject analytics and still use every public page and browser tool. To change your decision, use Cookie settings in the footer, then accept or reject again. Browser privacy controls and content blockers continue to apply.
